We lived in London for two years before we heard about Southside Hustle, but as soon as we did, we had to get along.
We’re not car fanatics, but we can appreciate a good-looking car.
They make great subjects to photograph, too, if you are into photography.
They don’t talk back and will sit quietly while you work around them to get some great pics—a demand of many a photographer, no doubt.
And thankfully, there were many beautiful machines on show to photograph.
Southside Hustle
Unlike most London events, which are swarmed with people, this was spacious, friendly, and a wholly pleasant place to be on a Sunday morning.
Southside Hustle breaks the convention of London, where eyes are down and active contact is typically avoided.
The Hustle is all about community.
You will find plenty of folk willing to chat, and there are plenty of things to break the ice with, whether you are a car fanatic, a photography enthusiast, just along for a look-see, or perhaps you were visiting the adjacent farmers market and your curiosity got the better of you.
Beyond the people are the cars, which, of course, are what you are there to see.
The collection on show is vast, ranging from vintage motors to more modern machines and plenty in between.
If supercars are your thing, there are plenty of them, too.
Where is the Southside Hustle Car Meet?
The car meet is along the southern fringe of Wimbledon Common, which provides a wonderfully green backdrop in London’s urban jungle.
The map below shows the main road along the edge of the Common, where plenty of cars are on display.
The roads running perpendicular to Southside Common (The Grange, Murray Road, Lauriston Road, and Clifton Road) host even more cars.

When Is the Car Meet?
🗓️ First Sunday of every month.
🕙 Early (7 am-ish), and in full swing by 9 am, will start fizzling out by midday.

If you intend to drive there, arrive early; otherwise, you’ll struggle to find parking.
Remember to follow the house rules: park considerately, do not spin wheels, do not rev, and respect residents.
What Else Is There?
At the east side of the Common, you’ll find the Wimbledon Village Farmers Market, which runs every Sunday, 10 am to 3 pm.
You’ll find all sorts of things to fuel your wanderings around the Hustle.
There’s fruit and veg, meat, seafood, cheese, breads, cakes, burgers, noodles and coffee, all in a safe, spacious, pedestrian environment.
Beyond the Wimbledon Village Farmers Market is, unsurprisingly, Wimbledon Village.
It’s full of pubs, coffee shops, and some boutique independent retail, and certainly worth a look around if you haven’t visited before.
Is Southside Hustle worth visiting?
Yes, it is. If you are interested in cars or photography, Southside Hustle Car Meet is for you.
It’s a friendly, eye-catching, easy-going meet-up in a wonderful part of London, worth spending your precious Sunday morning at.
