Postcards from Spain

Seville, Spain

We had some time to fill, so after falling in love with Mallorca, we decided to take a little road trip to southern Spain. Despite not knowing much about the area, it proved to be a great destination for a little road trip, combining some historic cities, dramatic landscapes, epic roads, and the odd vulture. We flew into Mรกlaga because it was the most cost-effective place to get to, then drove to Granada, home to the magnificent Alhambra, before winding through the whitewashed hilltop villages of Montefrรญo and Zuheros.

From there, we headed to Cรณrdoba (our favourite destination of the whole trip) and then onto Seville. When we arrived in Seville, we found out the Feria de Abril (April Fair) was on. It was a feast for the eyes, with everyone dressed in flamenco outfits, and the biggest and most chaotic party of the year.

Heading south from Seville, we stayed overnight in a random little town in the middle of nowhere called Cortes de la Frontera, which had the most epic roads to get there, before moving on to the very busy but impressive cliffside setting of Ronda.

The adventure all but ended on the Costa del Sol in Torremolinos, which is a little bit Brit Abroad in places, but pleasant enough. But just next door in Benalmรกdena, there is something worth seeing. It’s the Castillo de Colomares, which is the world’s largest monument dedicated to Christopher Columbus.

Anyway, enough from us. Here’s what it actually looked like ๐Ÿ“ธ โฌ‡๏ธ
